There are variety of programs and scholarships to support education and research for both of undergraduate students and graduate students in Department of Chemistry.
For Undergraduate Students
Supervisors
In Department of Chemistry, every student has a supervisor who is appointed from amongst members of the academic staff in our department at the beginning of each academic year. Supervisors provide support to make students' university life comfortable and meaningful. Please feel free to ask your supervisor if you have a question or need a consultation regarding your study and your student life.
Naomi Miyajima Scholarship Fund
This fund was created in memory of Dr. Naomi Miyajima in Academic Year 2010 by her family. Dr. Naomi Miyajima is a graduate of Department of Chemistry in Ochanomizu University. The fund award scholarships to the students who have achieved remarkable results from amongst 4th grade students in undergraduate program and 1st grade students in master's program in Department of Chemistry.
Student Awards and Scholarships

Teaching Assistant Program
A Teaching Assistant assists teacher with instructional responsibilities for undergraduate students in the classes of experiments or seminar. Working as Teaching Assistant can be counted in your career record, and also provide you professional development experiences in teaching and learning.
Fostering of Advanced Female Scientists at Ochanomizu University - Be the Next Marie Curie! -
International Training program (ITP) funded by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) has been terminated in March, 2013. However, the Ochanomizu University continues to offer study abroad program for master's students. In this program, students will attend one semester at Bergische Wuppertal University in Germany. Ouinkai Research Encouragement Award (Pre-admission scholarship)
The Ochanomizu University Alumnae Association "OUINKAI" offers scholarships for the students who will graduate from an undergraduate program at the University then advance to a master's program at the University (internal admission), and who are recognized to be promising with their excellence.

Research Assistant Program
The Research Assistant Program is intended for the students in doctral program. Application will be made on each research project. Research Assistant salary is paid if hired.
Yasui-Kuroda Scholarship Fund
This fund was created in memory of Dr. Kono Yasui, Japan's first woman doctor of science, and Dr. Chika Kuroda, Japan's first woman chemist. The fund award scholarships to young female researchers who are academic staff or students in doctoral program in Ochanomizu University, and who have shown notable achievements in research related to the natural sciences.
